What Your Body Can Do > What It Looks Like

When I was younger I didn’t have any confidence in myself.

I constantly hated the way that I looked & never thought that I was good enough... until I started lifting weights.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My mindset shifted from constantly trying to be smaller, both mentally & physically, to thinking about how badly I wanted to PR my Fran time (lol) or do a bodyweight snatch. 🏋🏻‍♀️

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s crazy the things that happen once you stop obsessing over what your body looks like & shift that focus towards what your body can do.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

& Honestly, that’s one of the main reasons why I genuinely enjoy going to the gym.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It allows me to keep that focus on being healthy & strong.

Plus, doing squats or benching a heavy barbell makes me feel like an empowered & total bad-ass.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ll take that feeling over trying to fulfill unrealistic standards every day. 🖤
