Not Feeling Energetic For Your Workouts? Read This.

Do you ever feel lethargic during your workouts?

f so, one of my first questions will be- “When was the last time you ate & what did you have?” 🤔

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Fueling your body before a workout is sososo important if you have performance based or muscle building goals. 🏋🏼‍♀️

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

For most clients (obviously fluctuating on the individual needs), I recommend a meal higher in carbohydrates, moderate in protein & low in fats anywhere from 1-3 hours pre-workout.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Why? Great question!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Carbohydrates are the easiest fuel source for your body to break down & is the first to be utilized as an energy source during bouts of exercise. Having protein before a workout prevents muscle breakdown. Fats take your body longer to break down & can cause digestive upset when combined with exercise.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Obviously, thats a very simplified response & there are other factors that come into play, however something to keep in mind if you’re finding yourself dragging in the gym! Questions? Send me an email at slynnmfitness@gmail.com
